Some older EPIRB and PLB models are no longer approved for battery replacement. The manufacturers of these beacons have determined that these units should not stay in service past their final battery expiration date, and recommend they be replaced with new units with updated technology.

If your beacon looks like any of these or has one of these model numbers, then battery replacement is no longer available.

Recommended Replacement Models
