Return Policy

Our return policy varies by product, but the bottom line is we want you to be happy. Returns can be complicated with oversize and HazMat items, so we strongly encourage you to Contact Us if you have any questions before making your purchase. We're eager to help and want to ensure you get the right product the first time. That said, we will always work with you to make things right if something goes wrong.

Standard Items

  • 30-day returns for commonly stocked items.
  • Free return or exchange shipping on damaged or defective items.
  • Free exchange shipping on sized items like apparel and footwear.
  • Actual shipping charges will be deducted from refunds on all other returns. This would include the original outgoing shipping charges, even if the item was purchased with a free shipping method.

Liferafts

  • Liferafts are not returnable. Why? Read below for more information...
  • Liferafts ship via HazMat Ground or LTL service. Once a liferaft has been delivered, creating a return shipment with the necessary HazMat documentation is extremely difficult while following critical safety procedures and regulations.
  • Liferafts are dated by the month when they leave the manufacturer's facility. When you purchase a new raft from SurvivalAtSea.com, you are receiving a brand-new just-manufactured raft (unless otherwise noted). By the time a return is processed, restocked, and sold again, the raft has lost a portion of its useable life.
  • We strongly encourage you to contact us if you have any questions about the liferaft(s) you are considering before placing your order. We want to help you make the correct decision and avoid costly errors in ordering the wrong raft.
  • The most common issue we see is when customers don't fully read and understand the weight and dimensions of the raft they have selected. Please take the time to measure the space you intend to mount or stow your raft. Liferafts are bulky and awkward to carry; make sure you consider the weight of the raft and where you plan to keep it.

HazMat and Dated Items

  • Returns are not accepted on hazardous items such as pyrotechnic signaling flares unless damaged or defective.
  • Returns are not accepted on dated items such as EPIRBs, First Aid Kits, etc.
  • We reserve the right to approve or deny returns for these items on a case-by-case basis.
  • We strongly encourage you to contact us if you have any questions about the item(s) you are interested in before placing your order. We want to help you make the correct decision and avoid costly errors in ordering an incorrect item.
